Which pocket PCs can be used for Tracker Mobile?
You can use any Windows Mobile v6 pocket PC or - from September 2010 - any Android unit.
Windows Mobile is Microsoft's pocket PC/phone operating system and is being phased out, to be replaced by Windows Phone 7 Series which isn't compatible with our software. For this reason, we would suggest that you consider Android units rather than Windows Mobile now so that you are buying the latest technology which will be continue to be supported.
Please note that some Windows Mobile units (for example, the HTC HD2) use multi-touch screens which tend to be less popular with surveyors. All Android units are multi-touch and work well with our systems.
We are happy to supply pocket PCs to you direct (check our online shop for the models we keep in stock) or you can source them yourselves. You may also find that your mobile phone operator can provide them via your contract, often for free, especially if you are nearing the end of your contract.
